COMPRAS . SHOPING

Now that I sew I like them even more. And when I find one with vintage stuff I get completely lost! This time I found not one but two fantastic shops with all kind of sewing supplies: one that unfortunately will close in Cascais pedestrian street and other that fortunately just opened in the center of Sintra. Cascais store is one of those old fashion stores with a very friendly shop assistant that doesn´t sew but knows all about ribbons, laces and tapes. I could not resist the old cotton bias tapes with gorgeous colors, the ribbons with beautiful drawings, the big rik-rak tapes and the plain cotton tapes. I managed to resist the vintage fabrics but I do not know for how long ... While I was there I even had a sewing "lesson" with a lady who popped up at the store! Sintra’s shop is located at an old hardware shop and has some great vintage sewing supplies found in old shops that have closed. The service could not be nicer and the costumers are the "new artisans" that are emerging. In addition to the beautiful products it also has workshops for those who want to learn how to sew. The ribbon with swans and the blue vichy lace that I bought there are of the most beautiful I've ever seen. I enjoyed chatting with the friendly owner and the many people who have appeared while I was at there.
